Family Life Center, Children's Corner Volunteers
FAMILY LIFE CENTER VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTION PROGRAM/ LOCATION: Children's Corner Contact person at Children's Corner: TITLE: Children's Corner Volunteer MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or high school student at least 17 years old. Experience: Previous experience or enjoy working with children and has the ability to facilitate learning programs. Time Commitment: Children's Corner is open Monday -Thursday; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Volunteer must be willing to work during the hours at a minimum of two hours. Other: Candidate should successfully complete a State of Michigan Background check. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform as a front line worker to the Children's Corner * Assist with the daily activities in the Children’s Corner (i.e.; reading to children, helping children in the bathroom, playing academic games with children, feeding children snacks, helping with art projects) * Adhere to Children's Corner policies * Exercise good judgment in carrying out these duties KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 2. Ability to work tactfully with others. 3. Possess crisis intervention skills. 4.
