What We Do

HOW WE WORK

Through direct participation, our volunteers confront the community's problems and needs. In the process, they uncover solutions to meet those needs. Volunteers help identify and create new projects and play a central role in Volunteer Impact's organization direction by coordinating projects and participating in committees. Volunteer Impact is mobilizing a committed corps of Detroiters in projects that address critical issues throughout our City.

WHY WE WORK

The rewards of the Volunter Impact process are two-fold: the community benefits from the active participation of energetic volunteers, and the volunteers gain a unique sense of fulfillment derived from personally helping those in need.

We need your assistance in order to continue to effect change. Help us with some "hands on" solutions to the Detroit area's most pressing problems. Lend a hand with a house building project for an indigent family, plant a tree, deliver toys to a sick child in the hospital, cheer an elderly nursing home resident, or escort a child from a homeless shelter to a museum or baseball game. You can make a difference, one person at a time. A better future for Detroit is within your grasp.
